An Ongoing Quest for Quality and Value
The history of PACE is a story of continuous investments in relationships, processes, and know-how that differentiates the company today.
When Mr. Kehoe launched the company in 1969, he was sourcing and procuring electronic components for his customers from only a few U.S. suppliers. When market conditions made domestic sourcing less favorable, Pat turned to Japan to find better value for his customers. In the early 1990’s, PACE was one of the first companies to look to mainland China for new sources of low-cost, high quality components.
In 1995, one of PACE’s largest customers needed a new source for the board-level assemblies they required. PACE accepted the challenge, acquiring a factory in south China to meet the customer’s need. PACE became a contract manufacturer, providing U.S. service at Pacific Rim prices.
In 1999, PACE built their own factory in Heshan, just north of Hong Kong, to provide expanded capabilities, quality, and engineering oversight for its growing number of contract manufacturing customers.
Today, PACE is an international company serving clients around the world. With dedicated employees at both ends of the global supply chain, PACE provides customers with end-to-end program management and quality control.
